That Group Date was Hella Awks – ‘The Bachelorette SA’ Ep 6 Recap
Twelve dudes left, the pressure is on
Published
3 weeks agoon

On Thursday night (18 March, at 19:30), the drama never stopped on an event-filled Bachelorette South Africa episode six. With twelve men left, the mansion is starting to resemble a pressure cooker as the stakes get higher.
The episode was filled with entertaining group games and awkward group dates that only added to the growing tension. Qiniso is a woman who knows what she wants, but she is beginning to show how this journey is affecting her, and the men needed to step up their game to show her that they are worth it.
To add a little bit more spice into the pressure cooker of a mansion, the fabled “Wild Rose” has been introduced.
THE BACHELORETTE SA S1 Ep 6 HIGHLIGHTS:
Dylan’s one-on-one tea date
Dylan surprised everyone by getting a one-on-one date with Qiniso. They went on a tea and sushi date, which seemed to go well and they connected even further. Qiniso did make Dylan aware of her annoyance with Cameron and his pool antics at the previous cocktail party. Dylan then tried to explain himself, to the men’s relief, he did not receive a rose and told the men that he was “scolded”.
Something that came back to bite him.
The Lottostar Bachelorette Schoolyard Games
It was fun and games for Vuyani, Cameron, Ruan, Gareth, Aviwe, Keelan, Justin, and Henk (Swazi). Jason and Qiniso had set up a series of primary school games for the guys. The gents were split into two teams and had to compete in the sack race, the egg and spoon race, wheelbarrows, bobbing for apples, and the leapfrog.
The team of Vuyani, Gareth, Ruan and Keelan won a very close contest to go on a group date with Qiniso.
The Awkward group date
Vuyani, Gareth, Ruan and Keelan went on a group date with Qiniso, but things did not go as planned, as the mood was very sombre and low. And after Ruan tactlessly but not maliciously brought up that Dylan felt punished for his actions by not getting a rose, Qiniso broke down.
For the first time, the men saw how the stress of the process was affecting Q and it drove home how important it was for her and them. But there was a light at the end of the tunnel and Vunayi got a rose for being more open and showing growth, and they had a moment watching the sunset together.
The crazy cocktail party
So much went down in this cocktail party. In the build-up to it, Peter was feeling vulnerable as he was not part of the group date, Keelan seems to be struggling with the process and Franco is still struggling to find time with South Africa’s queen.
The cocktail party started with a lot of tense energy in the air with so many men feeling unsafe. And this was made even worse with Jason introducing, “The Wild Rose”. Everyone seemed to sense that something was going to happen.
Kganya took Qiniso for some alone time but was interrupted by Peter during an intermit moment, this led to Kganya asking for a rushed kiss which led to a very awkward, but sweet kiss, in true Kganya fashion. Peter tries to reassure himself that things are fine with Qiniso, but he, unfortunately, didn’t do himself any favours.
Cameron expressed his remorse for his actions and that he understands Qiniso, and after Ruan told Qiniso what Dylan had said, Dylan pulled her aside to explain himself.
In the background of all this, Keelan was growing increasingly tense and paranoid making everyone worried for him and on edge, but to make matters worse, Swazi was pulled aside by Q who had then given him the Wild Rose.
The game is on, as the stakes grow higher in the mansion as no one left this week. However many of the men are not safe, as the blockbuster cocktail party spills over into episode seven.
The Bachelorette South Africa airs Thursdays at 19:30 on M-Net, DStv channel 101.

We are super close to the crowning the winners of ‘Love Island SA’ season 1! It’s been a long journey for the reality television series, which started out with a massive blowback over lack of diversity in its cast. Things died down and fun was had, however, and we are now getting ready to see one of the remaining couples walk away with the grand prize of R1 million.

It will be well earned because the series is said to have done some impressive numbers. DStv revealed on Friday that ‘Love Island SA‘ became the top Video On Demand content on the DStv App for Premium viewers, ahead of popular TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy and Boer Soek n’ Vrou.

With just under 1 million views to date on the DStv app, Love Island SA made quite the turn around. The show also grew 21% in ratings since its premiere on 28th of February. The winner will be announced during the grand finale on Sunday evening.
THE TIME HAS COME!
It’s been an exciting rollercoaster ride on Love Island SA! From surprising hook-ups to heartbreaking break-ups and not forgetting the tears, laughter, bromances, sisterhoods, heaps of drama and jaw-dropping bombshells – the Islanders have been through it all.

And now, with only four couples left and the finale within reach, it’s up to the viewers to decide who walks away with the title and the grand prize of R1 million. Will it be: Mischka and Xavier, Thimna and Libho, Tania and Ross or Millie and Asad? You can cast a vote on the M-Net site as of now and catch the finale this Sunday, 11 April at 20:00.

‘The Bachelorette SA’ Episode 9 – Who Has Most Chemistry with Qiniso?
The men ponder on who might be the most compatible with Qiniso.

Apr 9, 2021
There’s only a handful of men left in The Bachelorette SA mansion. And with the night of Qiniso’s final selection impending, it’s becoming a little bit clearer which of the guys our bachelorette vibes with the most. During last night’s episode (Thursday, 08 April, at 19:30), the eight men remaining realised they might need to switch it to win over Qiniso’s heart. Or go back home and try again, on Tinder.
With Dylan leaving, the mood in the mansion shifted, and it was time to either get really close with Qiniso or go home. This episode was filled with emotion and some introspection from the men.
‘THE BACHELORETTE SA’ S1 EPISODE 9 HIGHLIGHTS
JASON PROBING THE MEN
The guys received a surprise visit from Jason, who wanted to see where the men were at. He asked them who they think has the strongest connection with Qiniso. Vuyani and Cameron both said Aviwe, while Peter said Cameron. He then opened up about how Cameron made him feel “unpleasant emotions” whenever he sees him with her.

After Henk went with Gareth, Peter seemed happy that none of them saw him as a contender, as he feels it is an advantage for him.
THE COMPATIBILITY CHALLENGE
Jason handed the men a date card, which was a compatibility challenge group date.
All eight men had to find out if they have more of a deeper connection with Qiniso besides the physical and trivial attractions and traits. This was a game designed to make the men answer truthfully and see if they shared the same ideals as Q.
The men were strapped to vertical beds on a field and were given chalkboards to write down their answers to Q’s hard-hitting questions. The one who was the furthest from her answer would have their bed pushed down and would be eliminated.

Henk was surprisingly the first to bow out. He was then followed by Ruan, Justin, Peter, Aviwe, and then Vuyani. It was down to Cameron and Gareth, and Gareth just narrowly won the challenge, earning him a one-on-one date with Qiniso.
THE PIZZA DATE
Gareth went on a really intimate and fun date with Qiniso, where they got to build their own pizzas. The date began very playful and turned into something where they both began to open up. Gareth revealed that he started to really fall for her and that he had not felt that way about someone in a very long time.
THE HARD QUESTIONS
The rest of the men were left to chill with each other at the mansion, where they begin to really probe each other about how compatible they felt they were with her.
They then went on to tell Vuyani how aggressive Peter was to him, after he was taken out of the game instead of Vuyani. Something Vuyani was surprised by.
Henk and Ruan admitted that they were not quite ready to be engaged yet, something that rubbed Peter the wrong way.
As the day turned into night, the guys were waiting for Gareth to return from his date, but what they got instead was Jason, who delivered another date card, but it was not a card that they wanted to hear. It read, “Two men, one rose, one stays, one goes.” And those two men were Peter and Vuyani.
This bombshell left the episode on a cliffhanger. Who will go home, and who will stay to continue to fight for Qiniso’s heart?

Why ‘The Real Housewives of Johannesburg’ S3 Got Canned
The lost season.
Published
3 days agoon
Apr 8, 2021The highly anticipated third season of popular 1Magic reality television series, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg, has been canned! M-Net confirmed on Wednesday that the show had been cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances experienced during the production of the show”.
Which, we are now finding out, is a physical scuffle between cast members!
It comes after shocking allegations that DJ Tira’s wife, Gugu Khathi, physically assaulted Christall Kay outside a nightclub in Pretoria back in March. Khathi had joined the cast for the now shelved season. According to various sources, M-Net has decided they would no longer be airing the season, which was already in its advanced of filming.
And on Wednesday, Christall Kay confirmed to several publications that she’s considering taking legal action against Khathi. She recalled the incident to TshisaLive. “Gugu Khathi is the one who punched me in the eye, resulting in a black eye. She did this when I was sitting and there was no threat to her. I have evidence to prove this. She (Gugu) is scared about what she has done and is trying to make out a case against me”, said Christall.
Khathi has not denied the allegations, but has said through her Instagram that she’d acted in self defense as “(Christall) hit me first”.
She had joined as part of the main cast, replacing Mpumi Mops, who left the show after a fellow cast member had paddled a narrative of her cheating on her husband, I.T mogul Lenamile Isaac Mophatlane.
Execs at M-Net must be fuming because the series had already been filmed, along with the first batch of diary sessions and all. It would also have premiered hot on the heels of the Real Housewives of Durban, giving both 1Magic and Showmax that hot run for the rest of the year.
There’s no word on whether the entire show has been cancelled for ever, or whether it’s just the season that has been tossed aside.
