New Telenovela ‘Lingashoni’ – What We Know

1Magic has announced the coming of their brand new telenovela ‘Lingashoni’, which will premiere on  on Monday, March 22 at 19:30. The addition of the new daily television series on a slot that leads up to ‘The River’ on the premium channel will be giving viewers a new hour block of local viewing.

Renowned actor Patrick Mofokeng and Thuli Thabethe will be leading the cast on the show, which centres on the tale of a poverty-stricken farmworker who returns to his former life as a high-flying businessman after a decade-long memory loss.

LINGASHONI PLOT

Filthy rich ‘tenderpreneur’ Mandla Cele (Patrick Mofokeng) suffered traumatic blows that led to the onset of Amnesia. It all happened after he bears witness to a murder by a prominent politician – Joburg Mayor Robert Nondumo (Luzuko Nkqeto). He goes on the run after surviving attempts to kill by a close family member, which ultimately leads to his memory loss.

After being discovered by Seipati Moeketsi [Liteboho Molise], a farmworker and her two children, along a riverbank, Mandla starts a new life with them as Themba. Mandla weds Seipati and lives a content life on the farm, until 10 years later when an incident leads to him getting flashbacks of who he really is – Mandla Cele.

Lingashoni is Stained Glass TV production. They’ve given us eHostela and Ifalakhe. Viewers will be coming along a fascinating journey of a man who comes full circle, once losing everything and then navigating his way back.

Mandla has to balance the dynamics of caring for his farm family with those of reconnecting with his children and now estranged first wife Puleng (Thuli Thabethe). She has since started a new life with the family driver, Mandla’s ice boy Papi Zulu (Thato Molamu).
