We’ve long came to grips with the fact that Khanyi Mbau has a lot more substance than the once permeated label of Queen of Bling. Every now and then we would get sneak peaks into her life through someone else’s reality show. Whether it is on her brother Lasizwe’s Fake it Till You Make it or Living The Dream With Somizi, she often stole the show with her bubbly personality.
It comes as no shock that she is now about to roll out her own reality show. The show will document Khanyi’s life in all her roles as a parent, businesswoman and socialite lifestyle that she get to see on the off-chance that she lets us peak through the curtain on her social.
BET Africa will air the reality show dubbed Mbau Reloaded: Always Rise starting from Saturday, October 10. If common sense prevails, we will get to see some of Khanyi’s industry friends make cameo appearances on the show. In extravagant fashion, BET Africa posted a teaser of what to expect on show.
As one of the most interesting media personalities of the last decade, it’s no surprise that this is not the first time we hear of Mbau getting a reality show. Last year, she posted a video on her Twitter page that alluded to a reality show being produced by Molten Multimedia. Sadly, it never saw the light of day.
You can catch weekly episodes of Khanyi doing the most on BET Africa, DSTV channel 129 on Saturday 10 October 2020 at 19:30.
Phat Joe To Host of ‘The Real Housewives of Durban’ Reunion
Phat Joe Returns to Host RHOD Reunion Special!
Phat Joe has resurfaced again from obscurity to perform hosting duties on the Real Housewives of Durban Reunion. The radio jock is too familiar with the Real Housewives franchise, having sat in the same seat moderating the reunion of the sister show in the Jo’burg leg.
Joe’s brash style of presenting has created a cult following in which fans expect his comments to add fuel to the fire. If his show Cheeky Palate, which debuted late last year is any indication of what to expect, there might some tongues wagging between the cast members.
Fans of the reality show drew comparisons between the Real Housewives of Johannesburg and the coastal version of the show – only to reach one unanimous conclusion, the drama in the former was much more spicy than in the latter.
While we didn’t see much bickering or weaves being pulled of people’s heads, the RHOD was by far the most glamorous of the two shows. It will be interesting to find out if there are any friendships or animosity that exists post production.
If anyone has the skillset to make the cast members reveal their secret, Joe’s your guy. News of his appointment was broken by entertainment commentator, Phil Mpela on his Twitter page.

Aviwe and Peter Leave The Bachelorette SA Mansion
But we are still rooting for some faves.
Last night, (Thursday, 15 April, at 19:30)’s episode of The Bachelorette South Africa saw two departures, Aviwe and Peter. Now that Aviwe is gone, we’ve still got Ruan and Vuyani to pitch to Qiniso for the rest of the season! Obviously, the bachelorette must go with her heart but we won’t stop talking to her through the articles.
The episode kicked off with Peter and Vuyani fighting for their survival in the show. It’s an episode that packed all the tension, high emotions and a couple of shocking moments.
THE BACHELORETTE S1 EPISODE 10 HIGHLIGHTS
Are you a ‘Yes Man’?
Qiniso faces Peter and Vuyani and reveals to them that she did not want a yes man, and because of the way Vuyani and Peter were answering their questions, she needed to see how genuine they were.
The two went through a series of questions and in the end, she saw more of a future with Vuyani. In Qiniso’s mind, Peter had not shown the kind of grown she wanted to see. A very heartbroken Peter was sent home having thought he was thrown under the bus by Vuyani.
The men’s bromance was in full force as they welcomed V back with hugs, cheers and jubilation. It was a sight to see, as many of them were rooting for him to come back. The men have formed a close bond and it has become very hard to see any of them go.
The Cocktail Party
With Cameron, Gareth and now Vuyani all receiving roses, the rest of the guys were on shaky ground and knew they had to leave their impression on Q if they were to stay.
Swazi, Ruan, Aviwe and Justin all had their turn to talk to her, and some were not as successful as others.
Aviwe’s surprise exit
Awww, that smile! Having become one of the fan favourites after receiving a gift from Q, it seemed that he had formed a close bond with Qiniso. He even went as far as to tell her that he was falling deeply for her. This was something that ultimately assisted Q in her decision, as she felt that her feelings were not quite on the same level.
With Swazi and Aviwe being the last two left in a very gripping rose ceremony, Qiniso gave her last rose to Swazi, sending a heartbroken but very gracious Aviwe home.
Bonang on another ‘Being Bonang’ Season “I’m Over it”
“They owe me money”
Bonang Matheba has squashed every last fantasy of ‘Being Bonang’ ever coming back on our screens.
The South African media personality responded to a fan on Twitter, who pleaded with her to revive her popular reality television series. It’s not happening, Queen B confirmed. “I’m over it”, she revealed, because also “they owe me money.”
It’s unclear who owes Bonang money. But the the show, which aired it’s third and last season in October 2019, was produced for BarLeader for M-Net. We’re guessing it’s somewhere there.
The news wouldn’t come as a surprise to those who know that she’s already said no more. On the last day of its airing, Bonang shocked fans when she announced that she wouldn’t be making herself available for another season. At the time, she did not get into the details of why she had opted to discontinue the series, despite its popularity.
As soon as the final episode had aired in 2019, the media personality went ahead and described the filming of the third series as “one of the worst experiences in my life”
….making Being Bonang Season 3 was one of the worst working experiences of my life!! Glad it’s ending….. remind me to tell ya’ll why one day! ❤️
— Bonang Matheba 👑 (@bonang_m) October 11, 2019
And then went on to confirm that it’s “finished, finished, finished!”
Matheba did however tease the possibility of reloading B*Dazzled, the web docu-series she did in 2011. If she shops that around, we could still basically get ‘Being Bonang’, under a different title.
