Viewers will be delighted to know their favourite telenovela, The River, will be returning with new episodes! Not to be confused with the windowed down season 1 version that is currently airing on Mzansi Magic, the 1Magic flagship original is set to deliver new scenes.

The award winning TV show, which had to go on a hiatus earlier in May as there was no new material to be flighted after production had been halted due to the ongoing countrywide Lockdown, will be resuming where it left off.

The River is amongst a slew of local television shows, telenovelas and soapies in particular, that had to go off air because of the restrictions imposed by the lockdown regulations. The list includes The Queen and Uzalo.

The River, which premiered along with the launch of 1Magic, DStv’s black Premium television channel, which seeks to offer elevated entertainment that tells a diversity of stories about the black experience in South Africa.

The 30-minute telenovela will be returning to it’s daily weekday slot on DStv channel 103 at 20:00.
