Veteran South African actor, Rapulana Seiphemo, is the latest addition to the cast of 1Magic telenovela, The Queen. Rapulana, who shot to fame with his portrayal of a Tau on Generations, is the latest major actor to be announced as part of the major shakeup on the telenovela.
Mzansi Magic on Thursday confirmed the news through a press release. Seiphemo will be playing a certain ‘Hector Sebata’. The looming character is described as a “wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
Sebata enters the world of Tembisa as a high-ranking police colonel with a penchant for the narcotics trade. Charming and ambitious, Hector is expected to shake things up for the Khoza family.
The announcements come just days after the channel announced that Menzi Ngubane and Jessica would also be coming to the telenovela. SK Khoza, whose character was killed off in a tragic murder, will also be returning to the show.
Viewers of the show will be delighted to learn that their favourite telenovela will be adding new faces to the cast, especially after the recent, and very controversial departures. In April, Rami Chuene’s ‘T-GOM’ character departed from the show not long after SK’s exit.
More recently, Dineo Langa was reported to be on the way out from the ensemble.
Season 5 of The Queen kicks off this July and will grace our screens every weekday at 21:00 on Mzansi Magic, DStv channel 161.
