South African Celebrity Couples that Didn’t Make it to this Decade
The hottest South African Celebrity Couples that made our hearts melt in the previous decade
2020 has just begun and already there’s been a melee of relationships that have already fizzled out and met their untimely demise. It is unfortunate that some of Mzansi’s media darlings couldn’t make things work and we had to watch while their entire personal relationships played out on social media. Whether its a messy divorce or an amicable split, the receipts have been put on display. We take a look at some of the relationships that made the shortlist of SA celeb couples that sadly broke things off in the last decade.
K Naomi & Shimza Break Up
After months of ducking and dodging the rumours about their relationship, K Naomi and DJ Shimza’s relationship finally hit the front pages of tabloid newspapers when the couple split. It should be said that they did a good job keeping their relationship under wraps. It would take a messy break out for the couple to spill the beans on some of the issues that plagued their fling on social media.
AKA & Zinhle End Things
AKA and Dj Zinhle’s ups and downs has been something cut from the best soapie in the world. After cheating on his then pregnant girlfriend with Bonang, Kienan Forbes managed to get back in the good graces of the deejay in 2019. Even against the vehement warnings from her loyal fans, Zinhle gave her baby daddy another shot but it wouldn’t last too long.

Mbali & Black Coffee Divorce
Once dubbed Mzansi’s power couple, Enhle Mbali and Dj Black Coffee’s marriage is probably the biggest shock of the previous year. The rumour mill went buzzing after a flurry of Instagram post suggested that Black Coffee may be involved with David Guetta’s ex wife. Details of their divorce proceedings made news, with each drop of information subsequently being the trending item for the day. The couple’s split tore fans of the duo apart, with some fans failing to reconcile the celebrity they adored with the person that they were in the relationship,
Pearl Thusi & Robert Marawa
While the relationship was kept under wraps for the longest time, there are no secrets under the sun. The two media personalities had a topsy turvy relationship, with sources claiming that they would break up only to reconcile a later stage. With Robert being notorious for being ultra private, dating the socialite was bound to be too much of a strain for the relationship.

Nhlanhla & TK Nciza Split Up
Mega star and the music mogul, Nhlanhla and TK Nciza were married for 15 years before they called things off. The couple revealed that they were separated in a press release after coming to a tough but amicable decision. Details of what lead to the split were never revealed, with the matter handled privately.
Itumeleng Khune & Sbahle Mpisane
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and fitness bunny Sbahle Mpisane shared their intimate moments on social media and quickly became couple goals. With both individuals having a passion for for fitness, it is very easy to see why they would gravitate towards each other. Khune’s goofy vids and Sbahle’s cameos made for a great laugh but it would seem that hard times were on the horizon. It wasn’t clear why the couple broke things off, but it all happened after Sbahle’s unfortunate car accident.

Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are in for a treat. Disney+ has announced that 1 February marks the arrival of Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” The blockbuster will be joining 16 other on the streaming platform.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira) and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba) fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death.
As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, ruler of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, is now playing in theaters.

They are one of South Africa’s most revered music duos.
Their discography packs both blockbuster club bangers and lush delights for lovers of House with a transcendental African sonic flair. And the explosive fallout of Black Motion, which has been splashed across the internet long before reaching the courts, has shocked many.
Loved for their electrifying live performances and awe-inspiring chemistry, Mörda and Smol have always seemed like musical soulmates. But that relationship seems to have reached a bitter end.
In 2022, rumours of their reported split triggered a frenzy on the internet. Following the uproar, the group’s members Bongani Mohosana, who now goes as Mörda, and Smol (real name Roy Thabo Mabogwane), jointly calmed fears that they had fallen out.
It had been said the break would be temporary, as Mörda moved to focus on the release of his solo studio album.
Far from it, it now seems. The parties have escalated things to court.
According to reports, Black Motions have confirmed that they had pressed charges against Mörda for alleged housebreaking and theft.
A court order by the High Court in Gauteng posted on social media has ordered Morda to “restore possession of a recording studio apparatus” to the group by 13 January, at 5pm.
Black Motion shared snaps of the alleged damage caused by Morda – a broken door and stolen equipment.

It looks like we won’t be getting a new Black Motion album with Mörda anytime soon.
