Nomzamo Mbatha’s fairly discreet residence in Los Angeles has proven to be a massive success. The South African actress has been announced as part of the cast on Coming 2 America!
She joins Garcelle Beauvais as one of the new characters on the sequel, which will find Prince Akeem return to the States to find a son he didn’t know about.
The 29 year old actress, who’s spent the past year globetrotting in between her activist duties as a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and her pursuit of a big Hollywood break, will be portraying a role whose details are yet to be revealed.
The film will be starring Eddie Murphy, returning as the spoilt African Prince of fictional African nation of Zamunda, as well as a slew of Hollywood A-listers, including Wesley Snipes, Tracy Morgan, Leslie Jones and Kiki Layne.
Mbatha recently opened up about her time in Los Angeles, California – revealing that she’s bought herself a nice little apartment. She’s also been getting accent coaching while there.
The future of her role on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya as Thandeka remains uncertain, but there’s been no definite word on whether or not she will be returning to the arms of her fictional hubby, S’bu.
Nomzamo Mbatha has also previously starred on e.tv’s Umlilo, where she tackled a different side of her craft as a villian. Her first big cinema debut was on the South Africa romantic film Tell Me Sweet Something.
