Puma and Diamond Supply Co Return With A Skate Inspired Collection

Published

on

Sports brand PUMA and Diamond Supply continue their long-standing partnership through the latest collection for adults.

With “California Dreaming’ as its leitmotif, the collab introduces a selection of footwear, apparel and accessories with bold logos and unique tie-dye effects.

Renowned for his unique take on streetstyle, Nick Tershay a.k.a. Nick Diamond moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles, CA in pursuit of a dream and turned Diamond Supply Co. into one of the biggest, most authentic skate and streetwear brands in the industry.

The third collection fuses PUMA’s iconic silhouettes and sportswear classics with fresh new icons. Embodying a true Californian lifestyle, the collection takes cues from the textures of backyard pools and skate-bowls and is applied with a vibrant colour pallet that reflects the dreamy LA sun.

Diamond’s aesthetics appears across PUMA classics like Suede and Cali. The modern tennis silhouette, CALI-0 DIAMOND SUPPLY features a soft tonal leather and reflective overlays that sits on a full translucent iced outsole.

The sneaker arrives in vintage hues with white cotton laces while the Suede DIAMOND SUPPLY has a soft suede upper and a unique tie-dye effect that extends also to the laces, taking you back to the summery LA pools.

The sneaker features a smooth nubuck PUMA Formstrip that stands out in recognizable DIAMOND blue colourway.

The collection brings California inspired graphic tees and track tops for an eye-catching PUMA X DIAMOND outfit. Animal print with tie- dye effects and bold logos for a premium-retro flavour. This collection truly lives and breathes the full extent of California culture.

PUMA X DIAMOND SUPPLY collection drops at PUMA Select, Jack Lemkus, X-Trend, Superbalist and selected retailers from 25 May 2019.

Cassper Nyovest Aims To Fill Up Royal Bafokeng Stadium

All roads lead to Rustenburg

Published

on

After weeks of mounting anticipation from fans, Cassper Nyovest on Monday thrilled Tsibipians with the announcement that the Royal Bafokeng stadium will be the next stop for his annual ‘Fill Up’ movement.

The concert, which is slated for December 15th, also marks Cassper’s return to his roots in North West, where he was born and raised.

The Move for Me hitmaker made the announcement on a clip on his social platforms. “There’s a rumour going around… yes, I’m gay!”, he joked, hitting back at the random rumour that he’s secretly dating Somizi. “Gay means cheerful, gay also means happy… happy to announce that this year’s ‘Fill Up’ is going to Rustenburg”

Royal Bafokeng stadium will be the 5th one in his growing list of sold out arenas. Cassper has previously filled up FNB Stadium, Orlando Stadium, The Dome – where it all began, as well as Moses Mabhida stadium.

This will also be the second time he’s holding the concert outside of Gauteng following his concert at Moses Mabhida stadium, Durban, in December 2018.

Tickets are available at Webtickets.

The Lion King has been 2019’s biggest commercial blockbuster.

It’s also one of the highest grossing films of all time in South Africa. So local fans of the story will be delighted to know that the iconic picture is being translated into a theatrical spectacle that will see it come to life, complete with an orchestral performance!

Slated to premiere this festive season, The Lion King Live in Concert will deliver an epic scale theatrical display by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The action, adventure and wild excitement of the 2019 film will be coming to The Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on the 10th, 11th and 12th of December this year, in a perfectly synchronised live orchestral performance.

The event follows the recently announced collaboration between FNB and Disney Africa, which will focus on bringing a series of of family-oriented Disney LIVE events over the course of the next year to South African audiences.

As part of this deal, FNB customers are guaranteed a special pre-sale ticket window.

The experience is set to combine the screening of Disney’s The Lion King directed by Jon Favreau with the epic live orchestral performance of Oscar and GRAMMY winning composer Hans Zimmer’s original motion picture soundtrack that also features South African legend Lebo M.

Tickets are on sale exclusively through Computicket from 09:00am on Tuesday 27th August 2019, with prices starting from R200 per person.

Disney’s 2019 release of The Lion King features the voices of artists such as South African John Kani, as well as James Earl-Jones, Donald Glover, Seth Rogen, and Beyoncé bringing the unforgettable host of characters to life.

Veteran South Africa actor, Dr. John Kani, is thrilled to be part of these shows. “Now begins another tale told about my continent, about my country, about my people and about my heritage”, he said in a press statement.

“These animals are mine. That’s what the great generations of my ancestors left to me to inherit and when that story is told I feel SO proud that the world is listening to Africa,” says Dr John Kani.

“It warms my heart knowing that it’s now being taken to even greater heights as an all new live orchestral experience – I cannot wait for local audiences to experience The Lion King in this way,” he added.

“He’s a Prick!” – Anele Mdoda and Phat Joe’s New Feud

One month after Phat Joe’s suspension over homophobic on air remarks, he’s trending again for more foolishness.

Published

on

Phat Joe and Anele Mdoda are the latest South African celebrities who might be no longer be inviting each other to the braai.

The popular radio presenters on Wednesday read each other for filth, shaking the table just in time for breakfast. It all happened (so fast!) after Phat Joe threw the low hanging shade at Anele Mdoda, questioning her inclusion on the the Miss SA judging panel.

Phat Joe reportedly ruffled feathers on his Radio 2000 breakfast show when he paid dust to Mdoda’s gig judging the Miss SA girlies, allegedly saying she’s only there because of ‘affirmative action.’

“Phat Joe is obsessed with me”, Anele tweeted, hitting back at the Radio 2000 presenter over shady comments.

In a storm of tweets calling Phat Joe out, Anele also later referred to him as “washed out” and urged him to try again when he can keep a show long enough.

We know of course that Phat Joe’s controversies not only keep him on top of mind because an opportunity to shock and trend is never missed, but they’ve also led to multiple suspensions and dismissals over the years.

Just last month, the 44 year old shock jock was suspended over on air homophobic remarks.

In an attempt to defend Zodwa Wabantu’s scathing attack on gay people (she’s since delivered her apology), Majota said he doesn’t “understand why (gays) can’t accept that it’s difficult for most people to accept their lifestyle.”

In 2009, the motormouth radio host was fired from his radio show at Kaya FM after making ‘insensitive’ (insert transphobic) comments about the legitimacy of Caster Semenya’s womanhood.

According to reports, Majota had asked whether or not Semenya ever had a period. Following backlash from his listeners at the time, he’s said to have later tried explaining his comments, saying, “What is the difference between testes and testicles? Let’s say she has testes… Does it mean she is a man or a woman? She is either a natural phenomenon, or something is wrong and something should be fixed.”

Meanwhile, the 2019 Miss SA show will be airing on Mzansi this Friday.
