The Wait Is Over – It’s Now Hours To The Black Panther Premiere!
Long awaited Afrocentric superhero blockbuster Black Panther opens in South Africa on Friday!

… MEOW!
BLACK PANTHER KICKS OFF IN CINEMAS THIS FRIDAY
After the hectic week we’ve had in the country, what with the emotionally exhausting political hellscape that ended with former President Jacob Zuma’s resignation on Wednesday, it’s fair to say we deserve a big break. No, seriously…
Fortunately, there’s some light at the end of the tunnel… and it’s epic!
After months of waiting (and getting those outfits you’ve been promising ready, we hope) for what is undoubtedly the biggest black hero blockbuster ever created, Black Panther finally premieres in cinemas on Friday, February 16th!
You can catch the movie at Ster Kinekor theatres nationwide and see the mind-blowing visuals in IMAX, D-BOX, Cinema Prestige, 3D and 2D.
Starring amongst others Lupita N’yongo, Michael B. Jordan, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett, the Marvel Studios production, Black Panther has already broken a few records as global hype peaks ahead of the debut. Set for a massive box office debut, the movie’s recently released soundtrack album also did in amplifying the hype.

The movie’s latest trailer is a beautiful showcase of a futuristic/throwback/Afrocentric and badass experience, a portrait of black awesomeness we don’t see every day in the cinema.
The film follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king…
But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life

Mlindo The Vocalist Collabs with Nathi in New Single ‘Imali’
Joburg ‘ballers on a budget’ have given them the blues.
Published

Dec 11, 2020Mlindo The Vocalist on Friday made a big return to the music scene through the release of his brand new single ‘Imali’. This time the KZN native has partnered with Nathi.
Of the collab, Mlindo the Vocalist said: “ I am a big fan of Nathi and I am so honoured to have him on the song with me. I actually can’t really believe that I have a song with Nathi!“ said the ‘Egoli’ hit maker.
The song soulfully explores the age-old experience that countless South Africans have had to undertake of moving to Johannesburg to work and support their families back home. It also describes the pain of becoming successful and people only see you as a meal ticket.
“A lot of people know how it feels to be financially responsible for your family – black tax – and sometimes even your friends. You don’t even enjoy going out anymore because everyone looks to you when the bill comes,” said Mlindo.

Uzalo’s Mastermind Making a Comeback?
Sounded too good to be true!
Published

Nov 23, 2020
Mzansi’s favourite gangster; Ntokozo ‘TK’ Dlamini, famously known for his role on SABC 1’s Uzalo, was rumoured to be on his way back on the daily soapie. He, and dynamic partner-in-crime, Nay Maps were suggested to have reunited to bring back the mayhem that Mastermind and Mxolisi caused on screen.
The on-screen chemistry that Nay Maps and TK exude makes it a no-brainer to bring back the duo, after Uzalo’s ratings have been on the downward trajectory. TK teased his followers on Instagram, with a snap claiming that he merely bumped into his former co-conspirator.
The picture of the two sent more than 50 thousand fans into a frenzy, with nostalgic memories of their bromance on the show. It has now been confirmed by the show’s publicist that the two will not be returning to Uzalo.
The last time Ntokozo was on Uzalo was in early 2019, when he assisted his friend escape prison. Nay Maps is still contracted to The Fergusons production, The Queen; while TK’s last acting gig was on The River as Prosecutor Sihle Ngema.

Big Details on Burna Boy’s Upcoming Album
Diddy, Timbaland and Anderson Paak have production credits on the project.

Burna Boy’s fans will be thrilled to know that his 5th album lands on August 13th. Following on the success of his critically lauded African Giant, which earned the Nigerian Afrobeats hitmaker a Grammy nomination, Burna’s looming project will arrive in a world that is ready to give him his flowers.
In an interview with the New York Times, the Gum Body singer and rapper revealed a few details pertaining to the album.
Entitled Twice as Tall, the tape will find the 29-year-old collaborating with a bevy of America’s most sought after producers to deliver material that will premiere to an audience that is spread across the world.
Twice as Tall is executive produced by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is responsible for some of the biggest careers such as Notorious B.I.G, Jennifer Lopez and amongst other best selling megastars, Mary J. Blige. From this alone one can glean that the album will be aiming at the perfecting balancing of his Afrofusion sound with elements that will take him much further on the Billboard charts.
And Diddy was happy to confirm in the interview that they are working on nothing less than a hit album. “A lot of times when an artist wants to be coached or pushed to maybe a greater level, that’s where I’ve come in,” he said. “He, as every artist, he wants his music to be heard by the world…”
Along with Diddy, Timbaland and Anderson Paak also boast production credits.
Burna Boy is adding the final touches to the album, which he said was completely guided the “spirits”. It was recorded mostly during the pandemic, the album will draw sonic influences Nigeria, South Africa, Jamaica and the US.
Guest appearances include Naughty by Nature, Sauti Sol and Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour. Fans can expect a Zulu choir, electro influences, alternative R&B and organic instruments from West Africa and Zimbabwe.
