It’s tradition to appreciate the goodness that has transpired in a year that has been, just before you wrap it up and get ready for a new year! In this list, we are celebrating the 10 best dressed female South African celebrities

Many can attest to the fact 2016 was definitely the year of highs and and lows.

And when it comes to celebrities and their fashion choices, the same can be said. Some nailed it consistently with impeccable style, while others opted to look expensively tortured.

As we wrap up the year, we take a look at the best dressed female celebrities in South Africa.

Bonang Matheba has been the undisputed Queen of impeccable chic for a few years now, at least when it comes to South African celebrity land. Inside The 10 Things Everyone Is Dying To See On Bonang’s Upcoming Book, we begged the 29 year old to share her supreme style secrets for posterity. In 2016, Matheba was able to top the best dressed list at the MTV African Music Awards with all her outfit changes, even though she only found out days before the event that she’ll be replacing Trevor Noah as the host.

Well, here’s hoping everyone will be able to grab a couple of tips jotted by the Style Queen herself!

At the beginning of 2016, she vowed to her fans that she would be pursuing more and better for herself on Instagram. And not only has the actress had a big year in front of the cameras in the past year, she’s also upped her game in threads!

What we love about Dineo Moeketsi is that she does not avoid a bit of drama. Her style choices for the red carpet are always over the top and jaw dropping. She loves playing around with different silhouettes, drapes, frills, prints and sheer. Girl, get them.

It goes without saying that Nandi Madida never gets it wrong. Ever!

The mother of one, actress and fashion designer wowed crowds and the press at the BET awards in the US earlier this year with her stunning dress from her clothing line Colour. She landed on Best Dressed Lists on big publications such as Elle and E! News across the Atlantic.

Here at home, we are used to Nandi getting things perfectly right with her style. In 2016, she served maternity goals.

Nomuzi Mabena is fierce and bold – it’s all evident in her style. She’s had a great year with no less than 5 television shows under her belt, leaving Cashtime Fam to start her own record label which will house her upcoming album, the Recipe rapper did all the cooking this year. Together with all of that, she made sure her style does not get compromised.

The face of Adidas keeps fans on their toes with her fashion choices and in particular, her clear penchant for interesting accessories. Last year it was all about the choker on her thighs and the beaded crown. We’ve been enjoying the shades this year!

Look, we aren’t opening up a platform to discuss whether or not Luthando Shosha aka Loot Love is a style icon. It’s a fact!

We find her so absolutely refreshing in the game. We love her constant play on androgyny. She’s a helpless sneaker – head who does not mind wearing some of her fave kicks with a dress.

The way she switches between feminine and masculine styles makes her stand out. She’s so true to herself it couldn’t be more obvious.

Well of course! This whole list would have lost credibility had Sarah Langa not been featured. Her whole Instagram account could be a trip for hours. The Stylista ambassador and face of  Woolworths quite evidently loves fashion and is not scared to show that off.

When Khanyi Mbau is not making headlines, something she wore is.

The Katch It With Khanyi host clearly loves playing around with fashion on an everyday basis, if the snaps on her enviable gram are anything to go by. But make no mistake, she takes every risk left when it’s time to hit the red carpet.

We love that she never attempts blending in. She’s definitely a fearless woman, and it shows in her clothes.

When you’ve garnered yourself respect for your style through the years, you design for others.

Nhlanhla Ncinza snatched herself the 2016 ABryanz Style & Fashion Award for The Best Dressed Female Artist in Southern Africa. Deservedly so.

The Mafikizolo singer boasts a 20 year musical career with hundreds of different vibrant looks she typically rocks for the iconic duo’s stage performances, and she still manages to get things exciting and just right all the time.

Now an award winning fashion designer for her fashion label NN Vintage, Ncinza gets to share her beautiful designs with others.

Nomzamo Mbatha is an all round winner. She’s smart, beautiful and super talented. She’s also quite stylish, and we love how she’s embraced African prints and silhouettes to live truest to her ‘Nubian Princess’ title.

“Over the years, I’ve learnt not to conform to the norm of what fashion styles and trends are”, she penned down on her Instagram as she gushed about her 2016 SA Style Award for Most Stylish Artist in TV and Film. And it certainly shows!

K Naomi makes it looks so easy. Her style is discernibly ultra glam and chic, and we love the fact that she is pretty consistent with her plunging necklines and sheer gowns on the red carpet.

Her recent looks at the Durban July and the Chevy Feather Awards were absolute winners for 2016.
