Just when you thought it was all gloom and doom for Kiernan Forbes, an international award nominations like the MTV EMA announcement is enough to brighten any mood up. This nomination is off the back of AKA’s hot new single Baddest which debut at No 1 on iTunes overall across all genres and No 5 in the first week on the SA Local Charts entering the SA Top 20 Chart. In the same week that saw him drop the seminar track #Composure that trended for 4 days.

“It is with great pride and excitement that I have been informed about my nomination at the 2015 MTV EMA’s to be held in Milan, Italy. I would like to thank my loyal fans and encourage them to vote for me in the BEST AFRICAN ACT category. It’s always a pleasure to represent my country and my continent at the highest level. Thanks to MTV for this nomination and good luck to all the other nominees” expresses AKA.

“I have always been about pushing my art in different directions and coming up with fresh new sounds. The song features Burna Boy, Khuli Chana and Yanga. Produced by myself and Master A Flat, with additional production by Tweezy, the song is about having great chemistry with your significant other and being a good combination. Thank You for the overwhelming response so far. It’s about to be another awesome summer” shares AKA.

The 2015 MTV EMA will broadcast live across Africa on Sunday 25 October at 22:00 CAT on MTV (DStv channel 130) and MTV Base (DStv channel 322) from the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, in partnership with Expo 2015.
