Shane Eagle Talks Being A Sex symbol, The Hustle and New Music

How sad was it to see Shane Eagle being eliminated from The Hustle, when we had all become so attached? We had a conversation with him about all things The Hustle and Shane.

He defied early predictions that he wouldn’t last a day,  to race past some of the most talented rappers on The Hustle and safely land amongst the top 4 rappers on the competition. We caught up with Shane Eagle after his elimination from the show to get his word on a few things.

QuenchSA: Your battle with Cass was quite epic. Was this your most intense battle, like, ever?

Shane: You know, I’ve never been a battle rapper. Battle rappers are really different from people who consider themselves musicians. But I had to prep up for that battle. I haven’t been in a lot of battles so yes, that was the most intense one because it was actually probably the first battle I have ever done. So it was intense, but it was a learning experience at the same time.

The Hustle - Day One-260

QuenchSA: That in mind, what other things did you have to do that you felt were perhaps out of your zone?

Shane: I don’t think there were a lot of things that were out of my zone, I just think there were lots of challenges that were challenging. For instance, that one challenge with DJ Ankletaps… Like, I’ve never done a jingle. I’ve always been the type to just make a normal song or a record type thing. So like I said, it’s a learning experience – I’ve learnt how to do a jingle now. And another thing was the challenge we did with Lerato. It was a business challenge and I actually won it. That’s not something I used to focus on – the business side of it. That’s another thing I learnt how to do on the show as well.

Hustle 073

QuenchSA: What went through your mind when you realised you just got eliminated?

Shane: I was a little bit disappointed, but also happy as well. It was bittersweet because I left, but I left on the right note. If the whole of South Africa is watching, you want people to be like ‘oh, I didn’t want him to leave’ and not be like ‘yeah nah, he should have gone.’ ‘Cause, on Twitter and Instagram you can feel the connection you have with these people. But I knew, starting with 3000 entries, then top 20, top 12,  top 6 and then all the way to the top 4… I was feeling blessed rather than disappointed. I was happy with the outcome.

QuenchSA: Talking of the huge bodycount of casualties that started at 3000, the judges were quite sceptical about you at the beginning. AKA even mentioned that he cannot wait to nail you at some point. And yet, you kept kicking butt and went all the way to the top 4. How did you do that?

Shane: I think from the beginning of the competition, the pressure the judges put on us made me try to work harder and get better at every challenge. The first challenge was the jingle challenge and in the hook challenge with Riky Rick, I didn’t perform as well as I should have. AKA was like, ‘If I don’t vote you out this week, I’ll probably vote you out next week.” So I needed to make sure that that doesn’t happen, that I improved every week so I can get far in the competition.

QuenchSA: Out of the judges critiques you received on the show, which one stuck out the most to you?

Shane: I think that would be the challenge I won with K.O. AKA was really impressed. He said a couple of things, how he liked how much I have grown in the competition. But more than that I think it has to be in the finale episode – where I got eliminated. Tumi down to show love. Tumi being such a heavyweight and an OG in the game…for him coming downstairs and shaking my hand like,’ I know you’re going home, but I have man, I have so much respect for you.’ That was really humbling to me.

QuenchSA: A lot of people felt that you had the most commercial appeal in the mansion. Thoughts?

Shane: I think every rapper in the house had their own flavour and style, but people generally associate a certain look with being the most commercial because of who is already in the industry. But right now, there is more to me than what meets the eye. For a lot of people, in the beginning it was all about the looks, they were not sure I could rap. And then the kid they weren’t sure could rap made it to the top 4 in the competition, you know? I definately would do well commercially. I’m hoping that I can put all my resourced together and make something off it.

QuenchSA: Talking of looks, we know sex sells in the music biz. Will you be cultivating your sex appeal to work in your favour forward?

Shane: Definitely! I feel like it has a great deal to play in terms of the full package. One of my biggest idols that I look up to , Chris Brown, he is very talented vocally. But he is also like, you know, what the woman say is hot, no homo. So the way you look can definately help you out in the industry

QuenchSA: Who are you rooting for between Big Star and Shabzi?

Shane: They’re both my brothers man. We really grew as brothers in the competition and we’re really close. It could go either way.I’m rooting for both of them and I’m wishing them all the best.

QuenchSA: Now that’s one politically correct answer. What’s next?

Shane: Me and Big Star will be dropping a new song called Way Up very soon. We are currently shooting the music video which will be out in your televisions very so. That’s the next transition from the reality show into the actual industry. It’s gonna be a big song because right now we have the resources and some good people behind us.

Pregnant Lootlove Debuts Adorable Twin Baby Bump Pics!

Lootlove pregnant

Fridays are usually reserved for the premiering of brand new music in South Africa. But while we were treated to our usual supply of fresh boops this afternoon, Lootlove’s baby bump snaps have easily melted way more hearts!

View this post on Instagram

It’s a phenomenal time to be me. God and my ancestors came together for me and blessed me with something so wonderful! I’m pregnant!😆🤰🏾💁🏽‍♀️ I won’t lie! I’m shoooook! Haha! 😆 I always thought I was cool 🤣😋… and now to find out that I’m having twins makes me even cooler! I am carrying Hip and Hop 😋🤣 This is the most beautiful time of my life. Most precious. The scariest and the most exciting. I’m completely vulnerable and sensitive. I’m excited! I’m nervous but all that goes away when I feel weird little “gas bubbles” which I now know are little kicks because I’m carrying life. A reminder of the miracle and wonder that is God. ❤️ As “personalities”/“celebrities”, we are selfishly required to share every moment in our lives and when we don’t, we have people around us that we think we can trust, who gladly do it for us wether it hurts/compromises us and those we love or not. We constantly have vultures flying above us ready to share our private lives in the most non-emotional manner ever. You may forget but all I am is Human. Flesh and blood and nothing will ever change that and yes, my life is your entertainment, I get that, but try walk a mile in my shoes. The most important thing for me has been protecting my family, my persons family, his beautiful children and respecting tradition. My silence has had everything to do with making sure that everyone who matters has their moment with this, that they feel everything, from shock to happiness to curiosity to excitement, ALL OF IT, Alone, Without the rest of the country pitching in, hounding them/adding commentary/calling or harassing them etc. Its a beautiful time, it’s a sacred time, it’s OUR time. I am BEAMING! Here’s to LOVE. Here’s to forever with the greatest gifts of them all. P.S If you see me in the streets, please don’t touch my tummy… I will punch you in the throat! 😃😘 K thanks byeeeee ❤️🌻😍😃😇🤰🏾💁🏽‍♀️ 📸: @aust_malema 💃🏾: @siya_weloveher 💋: @preciousxabamakeup #LootLoveSquared👑

Also, she’s pregnant with twins, which “makes me cooler”, so there’s that.

The Media personality surprised fans when she shared the pictures of her sporting a baby bump on her Instagram page. The discernibly joyous mom to be has two cute faces drawn on her tummy for the twins, which she’s playfully referring to as Hip and Hop respectively.

Lootlove has been seeing Hip Hop artist Reason for a minute now, and the two have kept their romance below the radar and out of the press. That hasn’t stopped fans and celebrities from congratulating the couple on their looming bundles of joy!

Congrats Lootlove and Reason!
