Pretoria State Theatre was alive with music and dancing as the contestants queued for their chance to audition
First in line was Salvation Munyai, he is 26 years old and is auditioning for the second time. He arrived in Pretoria on Wednesday and is originally from Limpopo. He has been queuing from Friday. He will perform Vusi Nova’s Ngikuthandile.

Obri Komane is 28 years old, he is from Witbank. He arrived in Pretoria last night. He slept in the car and is eager to audition. He will be singing Lira’s Ngiyazifela.

Junior Springbok is 22 years old and he is from Mamelodi. He is wearing a locally made outfit by JB stitched. He arrived at 3:30am and he will be performing a song by John Legend, When it’s cold outside. This is his second time auditioning, his first audition was in Johannesburg.

Vincent Maake is 28 years old and is from Protea Glen. Originally from Limpopo. The Song he will be auditioning with is Sukulila by Soul Kulture

Keabetswe Lesufe is 18 years old and is from Mabopane. He is Auditioning for the second time. He will be performing Thato’s song, Blow by Blow. Keabetswe raps and sings.

Natalie Moos is 23 years old today. She is from the Northern Cape and arrived to audition at 9am today. The song she will perform is One and Only by Adele. She currently works at an NGO and she is auditioning for the first time.

Lehlogonolo Seodisha is 25 years old from Pretoria. He is auditioning for the first time. He will be performing Chris Brown’s song , Undecided.

Muneer Holloway is 22 years old. He is from Port Elizabeth. He arrived in Pretoria on Thursday and has been in the queue from Friday evening. It’s his first audition, and he will be performing Sam Smith’s song, Dancing with Strangers.

Omphethetse Digopeleng says : My love for music and my will to be the paradigm shifter to people back home is the reason I am here. My wish to be living proof to the next generation that it is possible for a rural girl with global dreams to actually chase her dreams and live them, thus paving the way for them to also have faith accompanied by action towards achieving their dreams.

Karabo Sibiya a 24 year old from Tembisa, is again attempting to be an Idol with a Bruno Mars smash hit “Just the way you are”

Mellisa Fernelen hails from Kempton Park, the 17 year old will be singing Little Mix “Wings”

Nhlanhla Mhlari originally from Eastern Cape Mthatha is another Idol hopeful, the 25 year old will be singing a classic ‘Stand by me’ by Ben E King.

The bubbly Divalash is 30 years old from Pretoria. She is a Club DJ and this is her fourth audition. She gets her inspiration from Brenda Mtambo. She will be singing I’m only Human by Rag’n Bone Man.

Bongeka Ndlovu is 22 years old. She is from Glencoe , KZN. She will be singing Nomvula by Unathi. She is currently a hairdresser but her passion is music.

Boitumelo Tlhakanye is 22 years old and is from Klerksdorp. She will be singing Beyoncé’s Why don’t you love me. She is currently a beautician but believes she was born to sing.
Mandisa Maseko is 21 years old, she will be performing a Luther Vandross song. Mandisa is from Cullinan and is currently studying Financial Management.
