Bongo Maffin One Source live

Bongo Maffin, DJ Maphorisa & Patoranking join the African Creative Revolution

Twelve years after their last album – New Construction hit the shelves, the Bongo Maffin reunion is finally happening!

The iconic South African kwaito group will be performing for the first after a decade at the One Source Live shindig. Also joining the hot lineup is DJ Maphorisa and Patoranking on Saturday, March 24th 2018.

The reunion stage appearance comes just days after Oskido (founder of Kalawa Jazmee records, Bongo Maffin’s home since their inception) confirmed that the group is working on a brand new album, tipped for release later this year.

Chatting to TshisaLive about the upcoming album, Oskido shot down persistent rumours of an ongoing feud between group members Thandiswa Mazwai, Stoane Seate, Speedy and Jahseed.  “They were just taking a break” he said. Adding”… and they are back together now.

“There is no bad blood and no tension in the group. We just decided that now was the right time to get them back together and record a project. Many groups take a break, it is normal, but we are just grateful that they have come back together again.”
