South African celebrities aren’t generally known for being terribly vocal about the country’s political affairs, often notably mum even when shit really pops.
But not even they could maintain silence after Jacob Zuma announced his resignation on Wednesday evening. The long-awaited decision was welcomed with celebrations and applause by millions of South Africans who have been holding their breath since the ANC announced their intention to recall the now former President.

I don’t know what it is, but something tells me it isn’t all as simple as it seems. There’s more to come. The movie ‘South Africa’ is like ‘Fast and Furious’, just when you think it’s over and done with, another damn one comes out! #ZumaExit #ZumaRecall

As South Africans, be proud that we have leaders who don’t cling to power. That we truly live in a constitutional democracy where people can be held accountable. Not bad for one of those “shithole countries” … They can’t even do this in America right now. Imagine.
