Our Perfect Wedding Reaches 200 Episode Milestone This Sunday!

Published

OPW

Mzansi Magic is gearing up to air the 200th episode of their hit wedding show, Our Perfect Wedding.

That, you all, means a whole two hundred weddings have been covered by the channel’s hit show since it’s premiere.

The reality wedding show has had some of the most iconic moments in recent South African television history, what with the many memes we’ve gotten from a long inventory of unforgettable moments (I personally don’t like the one with the crying bride though, I feel like that’s not fair!).

Each episode saw the presenters supporting the couples through their special journey, while documenting the planning from choosing their dream dress, theme colours, menu, and what the groom will be wearing to the celebration of their new chapter with friends and family.

“Our Perfect Wedding has exceeded our expectations. This milestone highlights that we have pushed the boundaries to create content that remains true to the essence of entertainment while celebrating love”, says Reneilwe Sema Director Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

“(The show) has grown from strength to strength with our audiences, giving a new meaning to Sunday night viewing and starting conversations that become Monday mornings discussion across the country”, explains Sema.

Our Perfect Wedding’s 200th episode airs on Sunday, October 29th at 7 PM on Mzansi Magic (DStv Ch. 161)

“I want Leading Citizens to help young people thinking about starting their own businesses to learn from those who have come before them, in the comfort of their own homes,” said Zama Ngcobo, Presenter and Executive Producer of Leading Citizens.”

Zama Ngcobo herself has a lot to share about navigating the tough and male-dominated media industry from the bottom. Having been a familiar voice on radio and a recognizable face on TV for more than ten years, she aims to bring her understanding of the media as a powerful catalyst of influence to shift thinking and inspire a new energy of hope.

Says Zama; “Recent research shows that millennials take seriously the business programmes on their television screens, and one in four of them does consider starting a business after watching one. So, I want to bring accomplished and eminent business people to talk about practical things they have done to achieve their goals to plant the seeds of success in our national young minds. If people are going to watch television, I want them to learn from it too.”

Real Housewives of Johannesburg: Brinnette and Evodia’s Tea Party Bust Up

Published

on

Real Housewives of Johannesburg

We saw this one coming from a distance, but Friday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg finally confirmed suspicions of a brewing feud between Brinnette and Evodia.

There’s been plenty of shade and mudslinging between the girls since the season one premiere, but the tossing around of some damning allegations pretty much spelt out any possibility of them hugging it out.

Last week’s allegations of Brinnette borrowing Athania’s Porche to keep up appearances circulated around quite a bit in the Mogase household, with Mercy finally confronting her mother’s friend to get to the bottom of the scandal.

Prior to the episode airing, Evodia had taken to Instagram to blast Brinnette for allegedly borrowing ‘people’s clothes’, which we later found out was a reference to a handbag borrowed from Athania during the night in question.

BRINNETTE VS EVODIA: THE TEA PARTY WAR OF WORDS

Fast forward to the lush tea party hosted by Evodia at a fancy hotel, where she brought out the ladies for some winding down. While a pyjama party brought them together for some of the most intimate and raw moments we’ve seen on the show so far, the morning after came with drama that undid all of that.

It all started with Brinnette inviting a friend, Olwethu, to join the lunch, without prior notice to Evodia. Olwethu showed up at the party with her baby, and instantly demanded that all the ladies should sanitise. That didn’t go down with Evodia, who felt disrespected by Brinnette’s actions.

“My Darling, unfortunately, you can’t come here and start calling shots”, Evodia charged from across the table, clearly in no mood to sanitise her hands. “This is my party, you can’t prioritise your baby at my party”, she later added during a diary session.

Olwethu, caught in the crossfire, later explained that it was never her intentions to make an appearance while the ladies were dining.

Was Brinnette wrong for inviting a friend without alerting Evodia? Was Evodia’s reaction extra? Scroll down and leave a comment!
