Just a month after the highly anticipated global premiere of the Levi’s® 501® Skinny in February, the quintessential denim wear brand has unveiled a campaign featuring two of South Africa’s rising stars – Family Tree Hip Hop artist Tshego, as well as one of the country’s most commercially successful female rappers – Rouge.
At the core of it, the campaign celebrates these young stylish Hip Hop stars and the music that inspires their style.
Rouge, who’s now recognisable with her trademark scarlet braid tresses that cascade all the way down to her waist while sides of her head are shaved, has long been noted for her bold appearance.
“I dress how I feel”, says the Mboko Zaga hitmaker. Adding, “I dress how I feel. I am an edgy person… I am one of those people who like to push things to the limit.”
On the contrary, Tshego often opts for a simpler look.
“Just like my music, I like simplicity. I want someone to look at me and not be confused,” he said.
