With veteran actress Hlubi Mboya speaking there to illuminate the gems that are women in film, the Constitutional Hill was the perfect spot to have a conversation about womanhood in 2016.
The iconic venue is both rich in visual history and buzzing with a sense of direction, for many of the old paintings and artworks on the walls during the Mzansi Woman Film Festival depicted women in acts of defiance against oppression.
The renowned actress, who was also a keynote speaker at the festival, was an obvious choice for us to kickstart our #WomenOfStrength series. QuenchSA has initiated this series of inspirational interviews with outstanding women across different fields and walks of life to create a space for women to inspire each other and shed some light on what they have learned in their lives.
We are honoured to have had the privilege of sitting down with one such bold matriarch who has been a mover and shaker throughout her career.
And to kick things off, we sat down with Mboya as she shared her own personal experiences and subjective insights on various themes. WATCH below
