Bafana Bafana Out To Settle Nerves

The South African national team’s African Cup of Nations qualification rounds have not gone as planned which left their hopes of qualification in tatters. Bafana Bafana play host to Senegal this evening at the Orlando Stadium in the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge. This match provides South Africa the chance to write their wrongs and perhaps settle a few nerves while they at it.

Bafana Bafana head coach Shakes Mashaba has made wholesale changes to the team that received a humbling 3-1 lose at the hands of Mauritania this weekend with seven changes.

Out to redeem himself, a remorseful Itumeleng Khune admitted that his blunder cost the team dearly. ‘It should not have beaten a keeper of my calibre’ he said. Despite this fact, the Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper has managed to keep his place in the starting line-up for tonight’s match.

Subs: Jackson Mabokgwane (GK), Ronwen Williams (GK), Dean Furman, Thulani Serero, Mandla Masango, Jabulani Shongwe, Phumlani Ntshangase, Themba Zwane, Siyabonga Zulu, Tokelo Rantie
