Absa Premiership and MTN 8 cup holders Kaizer Chiefs unveiled five new acquisitions plus two players promoted from the youth system on Tuesday.
Newly appointed head coach Steve Komphela along side the club’s football manager Bobby Motaung and marketing director Jessica Motaung unveiled Siyanda Xulu, Camaldine Abraw, Keegan Ritchie, Daniel Cardoso and Bongani Ndulula to the public for the first time. The new signings are expected to close the gap left by the experienced and fully capped players that left the club following public contractual disagreements.
Keegan Ritchie and Lucky Baloyi both 24 years of age, return to the Naturena based outfit after stints with Bloemfontein Celtic and Moroka Swallows respectively. They will look to have better fortunes this time around with a new coach in the fold. Siboniseni Ngcobo and Andisiwe Mtsila combine to form the two players promoted from the development squad to the first team.
Ex Orlando Pirates striker Bongani Ndulula will look to form a formidable partnership with Togolese international Camaldine Abraw, who will wear the famous number 9 jersey comonly reserved for the clubs top scorers.
Lastly, coach Komphela is reunited with former Free State Stars defender Cardoso who has already been capped at full international level. We eagerly wait for the first test of the new squad against bitter rivals Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup to find out whether the new coach and signings will stick to the reputation of the Glamour Boys.
