Former Bafana Bafana star John Shoes Moshoeu has passed on following a lengthy battle with cancer. Reports had been written a few weeks ago about his health, with the majority of publications echoing the same sentiment of the soccer star’s positive response to the treatment.
Shoes’ passing was confirmed by Glyn Binkin as he took to Twitter to convey his condolences.
John Shoes Moshoeu sadly passed away at 15h00 this afternoon after a long but brave battle with cancer. May his dear soul rest in peace!!

Shoes played 73 matches for Bafana Bafana and scored 8 times for his home country. As a result, he was part of a team that won the country’s only Africa Cup of Nations title in 1996. May his soul Rest In Peace.
