Did Ronaldo’s split from Irina Shayk Cause The Shocking Assault?

World player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo nearly put his team’s chances of winning the league in jeopardy. In a late kick-off against Cordoba, the Real Madrid maestro was shade of his usual self and his frustrations were on full display for all to see.

In a moment of irritation, Ronaldo punched and kicked Cordoba defender Edimar and saw red. It was his second infraction in the match though the referee did not spot the first incident. He was bailed out by a late penalty from Bale which meant that his side still retained the three points.

However the events of the match were uncharacteristic of the Ballon d’Or winner thus indicative of deep seated disruption in his life.

Coincidentally, this happens just days after confirmation of his 5 year long relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk coming to an end. The rumour mill had already spun out of control when the model did not attend the Ballon d’Or award ceremony earlier in January held in Zurich.

The burning question is does his reckless behaviour emanate from his split from the Victoria’s Secret beaut.

He took to twitter to apologise for his behaviour…. a bit late though don’t you think? The Cordoba defender accepted the apology and urged the Spanish Football Association (LFP) not to enforce a harsh punishment on the player.

The jury is still out.

Granted in a physical sport like soccer tempers do flare up. However if testosterone levels are anything to go by, such behaviour is symptomatic of need for a soft touch in his life. The soccer player has already been linked with a new flame in the form of TV reporter Lucia Vilalon.

Already….talk about lightning speed both on and off the field.

The players’ sister was quick to quell the waters, insisting that there’s nothing happening between the two love bunnies.

We of course don’t believe her.
